WOSEM is strong evangelistic arm of Christ Apostolic Church with its branches stretching across the length and breath of the world. It was founded through the direction of God Himself for the Purpose of winning souls in all parts of the World for Christ.
In the Beginning
The revelation about the Ministry was made to Prophet Timothy Oluwole Obadare by the Holy Spirit in May 1974 after seven days fasting and prayers at Offa in Kwara State. Steps were immediately to translate into reality. The revelation was discussed with the late President of the Christ Apostolic Church “E.T. Latunde”, who after seven days fasting and prayer consented to the establishment of WOSEM,
Though the WOSEM was conceived in Offa Kwara State of Nigeria. The landing and take off took place on 1st august, 1974 at Akure Ondo State, where the multi-million naira secretarial complex was Situated. The founder of WOSEM, Prophet T.O. Obadare was accompanied by such people as Pastor D.I. Ojo, Pastor Medayese (the late General Superintendent of C.A.C), Lawyer, I.O. Osinoiki, Elders Taiwo, Fakunde, Ayeni, Mrs Kode a nursing sister at Offa, & others on the opening day.
What we have Accomplished.
Though Christ Apostolic Church WOSEM started in Nigeria, God has given us the grace to spread around the globe. We are now located in several regions in the United States, Europe, Canada and Africa. Through the willingness to evangelize, we began to write our own Sunday school book titled “The Way” for 16yrs now and counting. The Lord also granted us the grace to begin building up believers & disciples into fruitful evangelists through our bible school program “WOSEM Bible INSTITUTE”established in 2014.
Since WOSEM’s main purpose is soul winning, who would we be if we were not spreading the gospel of Christ through the various media outlets that are available in this age and time. For the past sixteen years, we have spread the good news by evangelizing through Radio & Television on Eagerness of God Network.
BROOKLYN BRANCH HISTORY
In Summer 2000 Pastor Abraham Obadare agreed with Deacon Joseph Famuyide to start a fellowship in Brooklyn. Then, the Christ Apostolic Church Wosem, Brooklyn Assembly started as a fellowship on August 2, 2000in the conference room of the Law Office of Joseph Famuyide. Evangelist Joseph Famuyide, then a Deacon was the Coordinator who delivered the first sermon titled “The Will of God”at this first fellowship meeting – with 7 worshippers (members from the Queens church) in Attendance. The name of the weekly fellowship at the onset was Christ Love Fellowship.
This Fellowship continued for about 4 months until December 7, 2000 when a meeting of all fellowship attendees (Sister Deborah Famuyide, Sister Funmilola Awosiyan, Deacon Dayo Bamiteko, Sister Folake Bamiteko, Sister Andree Guillame) were called by Deacon Joseph Famuyide – 6 people in total.
Deacon Famuyide informed the members of the intention of the Headquarters (Queens Church) to convert the fellowship into a church to enable us start to hold Sunday services. He directed members to indicate if they intended to stay with Brooklyn Church or return to Queens.
At the meeting, Deacon Famuyide, Sis. Awosiyan, Sis. Guillame indicated their intention to remain in Brooklyn Church. Deacon Bamiteko indicated his intention to remain temporarily until the church is strong enough. He wanted to return to Queens as he said because of “his emotional attachment” to Queens. Sis. Folake wanted to attend the two. Sis. Famuyide was excused because she was in charge of the Children Dept in Queens. At the meeting, Deacon Famuyide appointed Sis. Awosiyan as the Secretary, Deacon Bamiteko as Treasurer and Sis. Andree as Usher.
On December 10, 2000, Pastor Abraham Obadare officially sent forth the people to go and start the Brooklyn church. The Send Forth Service was held in Queens Church for those members designated to start Brooklyn Church. The message was titled “Go Your Way” Delivered by Pastor Abraham Obadare.

In about 5 years, the Brooklyn Church saved a total of about $100,000 through fundraising, offerings and tithe. Once church met the financial threshold giving by the district – at least 50 members and $100,000, the church was allowed to purchase a building. The new church location on 611 Williams Avenue, Brooklyn was purchased after meeting the set minimum requirement for purchasing of a building.
